How to Infiltrate with Sharen in The First Descendant

Welcome to our The First Descendant Sharen Infiltration Guide. Not many know this, but Sharen’s Active Camouflage skill can be used to obtain additional rewards from Strategic Outposts. Not only that, but it also tremendously increases the time to clear these outpost missions. More Sharen content:

How to unlock Sharen

You must acquire Sharen. No other character can currently pull off successful infiltration. Sharen can be unlocked easily by just doing the four main dungeons in the story. Each part has a 20% drop chance.

What are Strategic Outposts in The First Descendant

In every zone in The First Descendant, you can find Strategic Outpost zone recon missions. These missions often drop valuable rewards and amorphous material. Additionally, when you scroll down on the rewards tab at the bottom you see “Additional Reward for Successful Infiltration“. As a new player this won’t really tell you much about how to do this and the game itself never explains it.

Once you clear a Strategic Outpost mission it will go on a 5 minute timer until it respawns.

Tip: By teleporting to another area on the same map and then back to the old location, you can reset the timer because it ports you into a new instance. Sometimes it will place you back into the same instance though.

Depending on which zone you are in, you have to destroy 3 to 5 Power Units.

How to Infiltrate with Sharen in The First Descendant

Infiltrating with Sharen needs some preparation. First of all, you need to have unlocked Sharen. Once that is achieved, we must be able to destroy all Power Units with our Active Camouflage skill before the invisibility runs out.

If we get our Active Camouflage time up to 15-20 seconds, we can generally clear up to 5 Power Units before the invisibility runs out. How do we do this:

Modules that increase timer:

Skill Extension (Level 4-7)
Maximize Duration (Level 7-9)
Dodge Rolling between Power Units

Click on the map and select Access Info tab > Modules to see where these drop. Generally, these should be obtainable within a few minutes. If you need more module capacity, check out our How to increase Module Capacity in The First Descendant Guide. To infiltrate, you won’t really need extra module capacity, the base will do just fine.

To practice this, I recommend visiting a Strategic outpost with three Power Units. For example, in the Sterile Lands zone in the Rockfall Area, you will find a three Power Units mission called “Rockfall: Vulgus Strategic Outpost“. Here is a video of Sharen clearing this without getting spotted.

You don’t always get additional rewards, but you have a chance to get additional rewards if you infiltrate successfully. If you have trouble clearing all Power Units, I recommend increasing the Camouflage time or team up with a friend that also has Sharen unlocked in The First Descendant.
