Welcome to our overview article of the new Daedric Prince Ithelia in Tithe Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road Chapter. Gold Road introduces a brand-new Daedric Prince, that has never been mentioned in the Elder Scrolls lore before and no one seems to remember her. In this article we will go over why no one in Tamriel seems to remembers her, where she has been all this time and why no one seems to remember her after the events in Gold Road.

Keep in mind that this article contains story spoilers for Necrom DLC, Scions of Ithelia Dungeon DLC,  free prologue Prisoner of Fate and the Gold Road Chapter.

Ithelias Background in ESO

Ithelias many forms in ESO

Name: Ithelia, Daedric Prince of Paths. Also known as Daedric Prince Ithelia, The Forgotten Prince, Prince of Paths, Mistress of the Untraveled Road, the Unseen, She Who Saw and Wept, the Last Tomorrow, The Dark Reflection and the Fate-Changer.
Type: Daedric Prince
Daedric realm: Mirrormoor
Voiced by: Alix Wilton Regan

Ithelia was first announced in an ESO Global Reveal event in January 2024 with the Scions of Ithelia dungeon DLC pack and the Gold Road Chapter. We found out that Hermaeus Mora has kept her existence a secret, but now Ithelia seems to be returning and putting reality itself at risk. Hermaeus Mora together with other Daedric Princes erased all memories of Prince Ithelia from existence and imprisoned her deep in the older part of this realm, the Mythos.

In the Necrom DLC story we can see a Dremora, Torvesard try to recover lost memories together with the Daedric Princes Peryite and Vaermina. They do not know what memories were lost, but they have a feeling Hermaeus Mora is responsible of this. Peryite and Vaermina were the only Daedric Princes that didn’t agree with Hermaeus Mora and the other Daedric Princes to erase Ithelia from existence, even after they were shown the damage Ithelia would cause to the fabric of reality.

Ithelia has been imprisoned by Hermaeus Mora deep in his realm, the Mythos since before written history. We as players get to visit this realm and Ithelias prison during the prologue “Prisoner of Fate” as well as during the Gold Road chapter.

Ithelia seeks to use the Loom of the Untraveled Road to weave a new reality, undo mistakes and break the shackles of fate.

In the Elder Scrolls Online we find out that the neutral demiplane Fargrave is actually Ithelias realm; Mirrormoor.

Why has Ithelia not been mentioned in any other Elder Scrolls Lore?

The reason why no one before or after the events in The Elder Scrolls Online has heard about Ithelia can be found in another Daedric Prince; Hermaeus Mora. Hermaeus Mora, the Daedric Prince of Forbidden Knowledge foresaw that Ithelia will destroy the fabric of reality and decided to erase the memory of Ithelia in agreement with several other Daedric Princes.

At the end of the “Fate of the Forgotten Prince” quest in ESO, Ithelia sees that her power is the threat to reality even if she were to be imprisoned. You, the player suggests that she could go to a parallel reality which does not have any power, daedra or magicka, where she could not gain any foothold. Hermaeus Mora accepts this plan of eternal banishment and together they open a pathway for her to enter. She walks in and you destroy the path behind her with the Abolisher, an artifact that opens and closes paths.

Hermaeus Mora gives you a parting gift, the ability to remember Ithelia and all the events related to her. The rest of the world will forget her and only remember that the mortal realm was threatened and that you saved them. Mirromoor will be an abandoned Oblivion plan and the name Ithelia will mean nothing.

The Abolisher

The Abolisher is an artifact weapon that can open, destroy and seal portals on the Many Paths and was used to both imprison and banish Ithelia from existence. The player character obtains the Abolisher from Shardmarshal Vargas during the “Hold the Line” quest with the help of Tribune Alea Idolus.

Ithelias Followers and Companions

ESO Ithelias Followers and Companions

Ithelia in was worshipped by the first race of Elves, the Ayleids before any recorded history was established. In ESO we see a resurgence of followers with the most important ones listed below.

Torvesard

Torvesard is a Dremora that supposedly serves no Prince or master and thus remains clanless. He also has dreams, which is not considered possible for a Dremora. Torvesard is sure that Mora has taken his memories which makes him join with the Daedric Princes Peryite and Vaermina to invade Hermaeus Moras realm to find the memories.

Torvesard, Peryite and Vaermina find their memories in the Mythos and regain their knowledge of Ithelia and Mirrormoor. During the Gold Road “Prisoner of Fate” Prologue Torvesard reaches Ithelias prison to find it empty as just the knowledge of her existence gave her enough power to break free on her own.

Torvesard is considered to be the most loyal servant to Ithelia and assists her in every way.

Shardborn

ESO Shardmarshal Vargas is a leader of the Shardborn Dremora and is seen gathering forces for Ithelia once she regains her memory. You get the Abolisher from her during the “Hold the Line” quest.

The Recollection

A group of wood elves that serve Prince Ithelia. They believe they are the legacy of the ancient Elves, the Ayleids and have started the Dawnway movement. King Nantharion plays a huge part in the Dawnway movement and is the self-proclaimed leader of the wood elves in the new Dawnwood forest that has spawned in West Weald.
