Dead Bride Colossus Overview
Dead Bride is a Colossus boss that can be fought in a Void Intercept Battle in The First Descendant. The recommended level for taking on Dead Bride is level 44.
Void Intercept Battles can be quite difficult, especially for newer players. This is because the bosses have powerful attacks and large amounts of HP, and you will fail the mission if the timer runs out or if more than three deaths occur during the battle. For these reasons, proper preparation is essential!
You should ensure your Descendant is equipped with good defensive Modules that boost your HP, Shield and DEF (at least two is recommended). It’s also important to note the elemental attacks and resistances of Dead Bride, and adjust your build correctly.
Dead Bride’s attacks deal Chill damage, so you should add at least one Descendant Module that gives you resistance to Chill damage.
Dead Bride is resistant to Chill and Toxic damage, so replace any Weapon Modules that add Chill or Toxic ATK, and consider switching to a character that does not use Chill or Toxic damage for their skills (Viessa and Freyna, for example, are poorly suited to fighting Dead Bride).
However, Dead Bride is very weak to Fire damage, so if you have a Descendant that deals Fire damage with their skills, you should consider switching to them. Also, you can equip Weapon Modules that add Fire ATK to your shots, which will considerably improve your DPS output when fighting against Dead Bride.
It’s important not to neglect this preparation because if you can’t stay alive or can’t do enough DPS to bring the boss down, your team also loses out, not just you.
Now that we’ve covered the prerequisites of the Dead Bride Void Intercept Battle in the First Descendant, we will move on and explain the attacks and mechanics of this boss.
Dead Bride Mechanics and Attacks – The First Descendant
In this section, we will explain the mechanics and attacks that you’ll need to deal with when fighting Dead Bride in TFD. Remember to press TAB during the battle to highlight the Weak Points of the boss. Hitting these Weak Points deals extra damage, and destroying them will momentarily stun the boss and make the battle easier. If possible, you should try to grapple these Weak Points, as this does more damage to the boss than simply destroying them with gunfire.
Also, notice that a lot of the ground is covered in lava. Touching this deals direct damage to your HP, bypassing Shield entirely. So be especially careful if your HP is low.
Arm Blast – Dead Bride fires a projectile from her arm, which you should dodge. She will focus on one player at a time, following them and shooting this in attack their direction. It’s best to be evasive until she changes her focus to something else.
Missile Barrage – Like many Colossi in the First Descendant, Dead Bride often fires missile barrages at players. These can hit over a wide area, but running away, dodging or taking cover should be sufficient to avoid them.
King Fishers – These are additional enemies that will spawn into the fight. They resemble spinning tops that will follow you and try to hit you with their spinning blades. They drop ammo and HP pickups when destroyed.
Teleport – Dead Bride will sometimes teleport to a new position. It is highly recommended not to stay close to the boss unless you are grappling to a Weak Point, as this just makes you more vulnerable to all of her attacks. So if she teleports to you, get out of there asap.
Spinning Ice – Dead Bride raises an arm in the air and casts an ice spell. A device spins rapidly above her head, shooting out shards of ice in all directions. These move very fast and can very quickly shred your Shield and HP bars in their entirety – to avoid taking too much damage, take cover or stand at long range, and keep moving around. After a few seconds, she ends this attack by dealing AoE ice damage in the area around her. Don’t be standing there when this happens, or you’re going to be in trouble.
Ice Dome – The boss turns white and becomes immune to damage. She raises an arm in the air and channels a beam into the sky. A large white dome spreads out around the boss. Anyone inside the dome will take heavy damage over time – if you don’t escape within a few seconds, you will die. Make sure to grapple and sprint to get well away from the boss as soon as this mechanic starts. This can very easily wipe an unsuspecting party – don’t underestimate it!
