This quick guide will explain how you can get the Guardian R4 Launcher in The First Descendant (TFD). This is an important weapon to get for TFD players who enjoy using explosive weapons like the Launcher, and it’s much easier to obtain than the Restored Relic Ultimate Launcher, while still being a powerful weapon that can deal high damage. How to Get the Guardian R4 Launcher in TFD

Obtaining the Guardian R4 is very easy, although you need to have progressed the story to the point where you have unlocked the Vespers area.

There are two different missions in Vespers that can drop the Guardian R4 Launcher:

Destroyed Temple Defense
Old Surveillance Station Defense

Both of these missions have a 50% chance to drop the Guardian R4 Launcher, so you’re quite likely to get the weapon just by playing through Vespers normally. But if you don’t, you can just replay either one of the missions a couple more times, and you should definitely find it.

Setting Up the Guardian R4 Launcher

To get the most out of the Guardian R4 Launcher, you’ll want a Module setup that plays to the weapon’s strengths and minimizes its weaknesses.

Try using Modules that improve the Guardian R4’s Explosive ATK to make the shots even more damaging, and improve the Reload Speed, since the weapon can be a little clunky and slow.

The following Modules are a good starting point:

Rifling Reinforcement – Improves Explosive ATK
Strengthen First Shot – After reload, the first shot has significantly higher ATK. 20 second Cooldown.
Slow Art – Increases Explosive ATK, but reduces Fire Rate by a smaller amount.
Recycling Genius – Reduces Reload Time
Reload Expert – Improves Reload Time, and slightly increases ATK.
