This quick guide will explain how you can get the Subconsciousness Shotgun weapon in The First Descendant (TFD). This is a strong Shotgun weapon that also isn’t too difficult to obtain, making it an excellent choice for new and experienced players alike. It’s great for dealing high damage at fairly short distances, as the shell splits into multiple projectiles that can be used to hit several enemies at once, or blast an enemy weak point at point-blank range.

How to Get the Subconsciousness Shotgun in The First Descendant

Obtaining the Subconsciousness Shotgun is quite easy; since it is a Rare weapon rather than an Ultimate Weapon, you don’t need to research it.

The only prerequisite for getting this weapon is progressing the story until you reach the Agna Desert area.

You then need to complete the Outpost Workshop mission in the Remnant area of Agna Desert. You can do it on either Normal or Hard difficulty, both can drop the weapon. Each run through the mission has a 50% chance to drop Subconsciousness, so if you don’t get it the first time, you should be able to get it by replaying it once or twice. If you’re very unlucky, it might take a few more attempts.

Setting Up the Subconsciousness Shotgun

To get the most out of the Subconsciousness Shotgun, you’ll want a Module setup that plays to the weapon’s strengths and minimizes its weaknesses.

Try using Modules that improve the weapon’s Firearm ATK to make the shots even more damaging and improve the Shell Capacity.

The following Modules are a good starting point:

Rifling Reinforcement – Improves Firearm ATK
Action and Reaction – Increases Firearm ATK, but also increases Recoil. Usually worth the tradeoff.
Strengthen First Shot – After reload, the first shot has significantly higher ATK. 20 second Cooldown.
Slow Art – Increases Explosive ATK, but reduces Fire Rate by a smaller amount.
Recycling Genius – Reduces Reload Time
Reload Expert – Improves Reload Time, and slightly increases ATK.
Shell UP – Increases Shell Capacity
