The First Descendant Battle Pass Summary

The First Descendant’s Battle Pass system allows players to earn extra rewards by playing the game. There are two versions of the Battle Pass, free and premium. Players on the free version of the Battle Pass can earn around half of the rewards, whereas those who buy the premium version will get access to all of them, including cosmetic items such as skins and accessories for your Descendants. It’s entirely up to you which version you want to use, this guide will only seek to explain how to progress through it quickly, regardless of whether you have the free or premium version.

The Battle Pass runs in Seasons; at the end of each Season, it resets, and a new collection of rewards replaces the previous ones. Players who want the Premium Battle Pass again will then have to pay for access to the new season’s premium pass.

Players can progress through the Battle Pass by completing various tasks, sometimes called Challenges. There are three types of Tasks:

Daily Tasks – Fairly short and easy tasks that offer a fairly small amount of Battle Pass XP (1000). There are six of these, and they reset daily.
Weekly Tasks – Eight more time-consuming or difficult challenges that reset once per week and grant a larger amount of Battle Pass XP (3000). There are eight of these at a time.
Season Tasks – Much more time-consuming tasks that usually require players to regularly play the game throughout the season to have a good chance of completing them all. These offer much larger amounts of Battle Pass XP, typically ranging from 30,000 to 100,000. There are eight of these, and they reset every season.

On the main Battle Pass screen, select the “Challenge” button near the top-left to view the Battle Pass Tasks.

How to Level Up the Battle Pass Quickly

Levelling up your Battle Pass quickly requires two things: Regular playing time and planning.

You need to play the game most days, at least for a little while, to get all or most of the Daily Tasks done. They may seem unimportant since they only offer 1,000 XP each, but you get six of them per day, so completing a week’s worth of them already gives you a reward comparable to the Season Tasks, and that’s without factoring in the Weekly Tasks.

Planning your Battle Pass Progress

At the start of each week, check out the new Weekly Tasks, and see which ones are realistic for you to complete that week. For example, if there is a task that requires you to reach level 30 with a Descendant that you haven’t unlocked yet, ask yourself if it’s realistic for you to unlock the Descendant and then level it up sufficiently. Do you expect to have enough time for that? Do you want to spend that much time on it? Find the Weekly Tasks that you want to do and think you can get done, and remember to focus on whatever activities they require. It’s not a big deal if you miss a couple of Weekly Tasks here and there.

Next, check the Daily Tasks. These are usually tasks that are quite simple and easy, such as completing 4 missions, completing 2 Intercept Battles, looting a certain number of items, etc. It’s usually possible to progress on both these and the Weekly Tasks simultaneously.

For example, if there is a weekly task asking you to gain 30 levels on Freyna, deal a certain amount of skill damage with Freyna, and tasks to dismantle a certain amount of weapons and components, then it makes sense to spend most of the week playing as Freyna and complete the Daily Tasks as much as possible. It’s highly likely that you will fulfil many of the objectives of the Weekly Tasks just by doing the Daily ones, as long as you’re checking them regularly to ensure you don’t miss out on anything. If a few Weekly Tasks are only partially done near the end of the week, then spend the last day or two focusing on finishing those, as that’s likely to give a larger XP increase than the Daily Tasks.

As for the Season tasks, most of these are very general and just require you to play the game quite a lot to get them finished. Some of them are more specialised, for example there is one at the moment that just requires you to enhance the ability of an Ultimate Weapon. This is not something that you’re likely to get done just by focusing on the Weekly and Daily Tasks. So it’s always worth being mindful of these and checking if there are any that you can realistically complete.

Planning out your Battle Pass Tasks like this allows you to quickly progress through the ranks, while also levelling up your Descendants and looting plenty of new items in the missions to make them stronger.
