Welcome to the Kowazan Guild Boss Guide for Throne & Liberty.

In this guide, we will explain how the Kowazan Guild Boss fight works, including the boss’ attacks, mechanics and the strategy for beating him.

Kowazan is a level 50 boss and can be fought either in the open world or via your guild. To find Kowzan in the open world, you need to go to Greyclaw Forest. If your guild is level 17 or higher, you can fight Kowazan via the Guild Hall instead.

We will now look at the attacks and mechanics of the Kowazan boss fight in Throne & Liberty.

Kowazan Boss Mechanics in Throne & Liberty

Kowazan has the following attacks and mechanics in Throne & Liberty:

Basic Attacks – Throughout the fight, Kowazan will carry out a mixture of melee, ranged and jumping attacks, usually directed at whichever player has aggro (ideally a tank)
Fury Attack – Like most bosses in Throne & Liberty, Kowazan has a Fury Attack that is shown by the purple indicator displayed on the boss. Perform a perfectly timed block to avoid the damage from the Fury Attack, otherwise you will be hit by a lunging attack for significant damage.
Poison AOE – Kowazan throws poison knives on the ground, creating a small poison AOE which you need to avoid.
Poison Fan – Kowazan sends out a fan of poison knives in all directions, dealing damage to anyone who gets hit. Try to avoid being too close to the boss when this happens.
Poison Curse – Multiple players are randomly chosen to be targeted by this mechanic each time it happens. The chosen players will begin taking poison damage which will increase over time. The affected players have a green knife floating above them. To deal with this mechanic, you need to touch unaffected players to spread the poison to them, which will reduce the damage of the poison. If you try to deal with the poison alone, you will probably die as the damage continues to increase the longer you have it.
Poison Wave – This final mechanic incorporates the Poison Curse mentioned above. Kowazan will shout out and leave a large poison AOE on the ground, which players should avoid. A large number of players will receive the Poison Curse at the same time, which can be dealt with in the same way (it can cause more problems this time since there are less unaffected players to share it with). At the same time, the entire raid will be feared, forcing them to run away from the boss and stunning them for a few seconds. This can kill a few players who are unlucky due to them being stunned, but it shouldn’t be enough to cause a wipe unless there are other problems.

Once you have survived all of these mechanics, the boss will continue to repeat them until the end of the fight.

At first glance, it’s possible for newer players to be overwhelmed or confused by the several poison mechanics, many of which look a little similar. Once you have learned them all and know how to deal with each one, the Kowazan boss fight becomes a fairly simple one.
