The First Descendant Top 5 Weapons Tier List
Our top 5 TFD weapons are listed below.
5 – Thunder Cage Submachine Gun
The Thunder Cage is an Ultimate Submachine Gun in The First Descendant. Despite being by far the easiest Ultimate weapon to obtain in TFD, it remains one of the most useful. This is because of its accessibility and its effect.
Defeating an enemy with the Thunder Cage has a chance to cause an Electric shockwave that damages nearby enemies. This makes it one of the best weapons in the game for dealing with groups of enemies. It’s less useful when fighting against Colossi and Commanders, but for quickly clearing mobs away, it is an excellent choice.

4 – Smithereens Shotgun
Smithereens is an Ultimate Shotgun in The First Descendant. It is designed for use at extremely close range.
When you hit an enemy with all bullets from the shotgun shell, the Crit Rate is increased by 100% (effectively guaranteeing a Critical Hit), and the Critical Damage increased by 5%. You then get the Amplification buff, which grants you 2 extra bullets in your shells, but this only lasts for 1 second, so realistically, it will only affect the next shot.
This Shotgun is excellent for repeatedly blasting enemies at point-blank range for huge damage bursts. You can also do the same on Colossi (especially on their Weak Points) if you’re prepared to run the risk of standing so close to them.
3 – Secret Garden Tactical Rifle
Secret Garden is an Ultimate Tactical Rifle in The First Descendant. It applies significant buffs to your damage output when you use a Tech Skill.
Since its most beneficial effect only triggers when using a Tech Skill, Secret Garden is useless for some Descendants, which is why it only reaches the third place in the ranking. But if your Descendant does have plenty of Tech skills, then you should strongly consider using Secret Garden in one of your weapon slots.
Using a Tech Skill has a chance to give you the Pest Control buff, which increases your Firearm ATK and Skill Power temporarily. This buff can stack up to three times for larger increases.
Secret Garden also has a less important effect that has a chance of being triggered when you use a Dimension Skill – your Descendant will recover a portion of their Resource (such as MP).
The downside of the Secret Guardian Rifle is that it also increases your Skill Costs when active, so you may wish to combine it with Descendant Modules that reduce your Skill Cost.
2 – Fallen Hope Assault Rifle
Fallen Hope is an Ultimate Assault Rifle that plays perfectly with Poison-themed builds, especially when you are playing as Freyna.
Hitting an enemy who is Poisoned will give you bonus Firearm ATK against that enemy, allowing you to defeat them more quickly.
Defeating a Poisoned enemy with the Fallen Hope weapon has a chance to create a Poison explosion, which will damage and Poison other enemies who are standing close by.
The limiting factor of Fallen Hope is that it doesn’t offer much value if you’re not building around Poison damage. But if you are, then this weapon is a must-have and will greatly increase your damage output.

1 – Afterglow Sword Sniper Rifle
The Afterglow Sword is an Ultimate Sniper Rifle in The First Descendant, and our pick for the best weapon available in TFD currently.
Hitting an enemy Weak Point grants you the Death Propagation buff, which increases your Weak Point Damage and Reload Speed. The buff is temporary but can be stacked multiple times. You can maintain maximum stacks for a long time, as long as you get a Weak Point Hit every 5 seconds.
Additionally, your shots against bosses (Colossi and Commanders) have increased Critical Rate. This powerful Sniper Rifle is highly effective at any range, and allows you to deal amazing DPS to bosses – with the correct setup that maximises Firearm ATK and Weak Point damage, you can carry your parry through boss fights with this weapon by staying at a safe distance and dutifully chipping away the boss’ HP bar with well-placed Weak Point hits.
This weapon is even better if you’re playing as Sharen, as she can use her Ambush ability to turn invisible and get even more damage with the shots. But even if you’re not playing as Sharen, this weapon is really good, and we strongly recommend trying it out.
The only real downside of Afterglow Sword is that being a Sniper Rifle, it’s a little difficult to use and poorly suited to players who struggle to aim precisely. But with the extent to which it rewards you for placing your shots well, if you want to practise and improve your aim, this is a great weapon to do it with.
