Welcome to our Way of Light Monk Build for Solasta II.
The Way of Light is a Monk subclass in Solasta II. This guide will explain how to create a powerful Light Monk build, including the best weapons, armour, spells, ability distribution, skills, and more.

Monk Class Overview – Solasta II
Monks are disciplined practitioners of the martial arts who have learned to harness the energy flowing through their bodies and channel it either offensively or defensively.
Here is what your Monk will start the game with at Level 1:
- Weapon Proficiencies – Shortswords, Simple Weapons
- Armour Proficiencies – None
- Saving Throw Proficiencies – Strength, Dexterity
- Skill Proficiencies – Choose 2 from Acrobatics, Athletics, History, Insight, Religion, Stealth
- Unarmoured Defence – When you are not wearing armour and not using a shield, your Armour Class becomes (10 + Dexterity Modifier + Wisdom Modifier)
- Martial Arts – When not wearing armour, not wielding a shield and only wielding monk weapons, you gain the following benefits:
- Use Dexterity instead of Strength for Attack and Damage Rolls
- Roll a d4 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike or monk weapon. This increases at levels 5 and 11.
- When you use the attack action with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you can make one unarmed strike as a bonus action.
Please note that “monk weapons” refers to weapons that your Monk is Proficient with.
Way of Light Subclass – Solasta II
Light Monks learn to manifest their inner light externally. They specialize in fighting creatures who dwell in the dark.
This section explains what your Light Monk will unlock as they progress.
Level 3
- Luminous Ki – You gain access to the Light and Shine cantrips and creatures hit by your Flurry of Blows emit bright light.
Level 6
- Radiant Strikes – Adds 1d4 radiant damage to each of your attacks when hitting enemies under the effect of Luminous Ki or Shine.
Level 11
- Blinding Flash – You can use 2 Ki Points and your bonus action to deal 3d6 radiant damage and blind enemies surrounding you if they fail a Constitution saving throw. Enemies take half damage on a success.

Way of Light Monk Build Levelling Up Guide – Solasta II
In this section, we’ll explain what your Way of Light Monk will unlock at each level and the best choices to make when levelling up.
Level 2
- Ki – You gain Ki Points equal to your Monk Level, which can be spent on various Ki Actions. Your Points are Replenished Short and Long Rests. Some Ki Actions impose a Saving Throw, the difficulty of which shall be (8 + Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom Modifier).
- Flurry of Blows – After taking the attack action, spend 1 Ki Point to make two unarmed strikes as a Bonus Action.
- Patient Defence – Spend 1 Ki Point to dodge as a Bonus Action.
- Step of the Wind – Spend 1 Ki Point to disengage or dash as a Bonus Action, and double your jump distance.
- Unarmoured Movement – You can move 2 additional cells while not wearing armour or wielding a shield. The extra movement is increased at levels 6, 10 and 14.
Level 3
- Deflect Missiles – When hit by a ranged weapon attack, use your Reaction to deflect or catch the missile. The damage taken is reduced by (1d10 + Dexterity Modifier + Monk Level). If the damage is reduced to 0 and the missile is small enough, you can spend 1 Ki Point to send the projectile back to the caster as a ranged attack.
- Subclass – Choose your Monk subclass. Select the Way of Light.
- Luminous Ki – You gain access to the Light and Shine cantrips and creatures hit by your Flurry of Blows emit bright light.
Level 4
- Feat – Select a Feat or make an Ability improvement.
- Slow Fall – Use your Reaction to reduce fall damage by (5 x Monk level) and get up immediately
Level 5
- Extra Attack – You can attack twice per turn with the attack or shove actions.
- Stunning Strike – When you hit a creature, spend 1 Ki Point to stun the target until the end of your next turn if they fail a Constitution Save.
Level 6
- Ki-Empowered Strikes – Unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming Resistance and Immunity to non-magical attacks.
- Radiant Strikes – Adds 1d4 radiant damage to each of your attacks when hitting enemies under the effect of Luminous Ki or Shine.
Level 7
- Stillness of Mind – Provides immunity to Charm and Fear effects.
- Evasion – When subjected to an area of effect that imposes a Dexterity Saving Throw for half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed, and half damage if you fail.
Level 8
- Feat – Select a Feat or make an Ability improvement
Level 9
- Improved Unarmoured Movement – When Unarmoured Movement is active, climbing no longer costs extra Movement Points.
Level 10
- Purity of Body – You are immune to all diseases and poisons
Level 11
- Blinding Flash – You can use 2 Ki Points and your bonus action to deal 3d6 radiant damage and blind enemies surrounding you if they fail a Constitution saving throw. Enemies take half damage on a success.
Level 12
- Feat – Select a Feat or make an Ability improvement
