Tooltipruhe was materially developed with OpenAI ChatGPT. The assistant Atlas generated and revised the Lua code used by the addon. Concept direction, feature decisions and in-game testing were provided by Torfason. The final package is published by Torfason. No third-party addon code or art assets are bundled with Tooltipruhe.

Tooltipruhe gives you control over the position and visibility of ESO’s keyboard item tooltips. The main item tooltip and both comparison tooltips can be positioned independently and their positions are saved.

Tooltipruhe does not replace the contents of item tooltips. It only controls their visibility and screen position.

Tooltip Positions
– Move the main item tooltip, Comparison 1 and Comparison 2 independently.
– Positions are saved account-wide and separated by megaserver.
– Editing uses visible positioning markers and the left mouse button.
– Leaving the settings panel automatically ends position editing and keeps the saved positions.

Position Presets

– Presets place the three tooltip windows side by side and lead them from the selected corner toward the center of the screen.
– Tooltip widths are read dynamically from ESO instead of using a fixed width, so the layout can adapt to different UI configurations and scaling.

Visibility
– Optional normal ESO tooltip behavior.
– When normal behavior is disabled, item tooltips can remain hidden by default.
– A keybind can temporarily show or hide the tracked item tooltips.
– Chat messages from Tooltipruhe can be enabled or disabled.
