Long roleplay posts, manageable chat messages, and optional session history.
Roleplay Post Support helps you write and share longer roleplay posts in The Elder Scrolls Online without manually cutting them into chat-sized pieces. Compose your post in a dedicated window, preview the split messages, and send them through ESO’s normal chat input.
You remain in control: every message requires you to press Enter. The addon prepares messagesit never automatically sends them.
Features
Long-post composer: Write or paste your post into a dedicated, scrollable Compose window.
Smart text splitting: Prefers paragraph, sentence, and word boundaries where possible, while respecting the current chat input limit.
Customizable continuation markers: Configure the prefix and suffix used to connect the parts of a longer post.
Preview before sending: Review each piece before preparing it in native chat.
Channel dropdown: Select Say, Emote, Group / Party, Whisper, or Guild and Officer channels directly.
Editable native input: Make last-minute changes to a prepared message before pressing Enter.
Guided progression: After a matching outgoing message is observed, the addon can prepare the next piece. Pause, resume, and manual navigation controls are available when needed.
Automatic composer clearing: Once every piece is confirmed, an unchanged completed draft clears so you can start your next post.
Optional Session Archives
Create named sessions and save a participant list to keep a local history of your roleplay.
Record your messages and messages from selected participants across supported player chat channels, including whispers.
Enable Record addon-marked only to exclude ordinary chat and capture only messages carrying the addon’s invisible identifier. Participants need Roleplay Post Support 1.2.0 or later for their addon-prepared messages to be included.
Read history oldest first by default, or switch to newest first. Your display preference is remembered.
Automatically follow the latest recorded message, with paged history and readable timestamps.
Keep up to 50 sessions, with the newest 2,000 messages per session.
Recording is optional and must be started explicitly. Drafts and prepared-but-unsent messages are not recorded.
Getting Started
Type /rps to open the addon.
Choose your channel and enter a whisper target if needed.
Write your post and click Preview.
Click Prepare / Start.
Review each message in native chat and press Enter yourself.
Opening the window automatically enables cursor mode. No external libraries or pChat installation are required.
Important Notes
Designed for keyboard chat mode.
Repeatedly sending identical text can trigger the repeated/ambiguous-message safeguard and require manual advancement.
Session recording is not limited to the channel selected in Compose. Your outgoing whispers to anyone are eligible for capture while recording, subject to the addon-only filter.
Archives are stored locally in plain-text SavedVariables. Obtain participants’ consent before recording or sharing conversations.
