Soulframe Virtues Explained – Stats Guide

Welcome to our Virtues guide for Soulframe. In this guide, we will explain the three Virtues (stats) of Courage, Spirit and Grace, what they do and which ones you should focus on increasing first.

Virtues are often confusing for new players because they don’t match up to stats used by most other RPGs (like strength, dexterity, etc). But functionally, they are very similar to those stats; they’ve basically been renamed to better fit the theme of Soulframe.

Please note that this guide is currently a Work in Progress. Soulframe is still in development, and our guides will evolve alongside it.

What Are Virtues in Soulframe?

As mentioned above, Virtues are a similar concept to character stats or ability scores in other RPG games, such as Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence. Those latter stats don’t exist in Soulframe – we instead have the three Virtues:

  • Courage – Increases your melee damage and makes you more durable against enemy hits. Similar to Strength in many other RPG games.
  • Spirit – Makes you better at spellcasting. Your magical abilities can deal more damage, and your abilities that have a duration will last for longer. Similar to Intelligence in other RPG games.
  • Grace – Makes you better at stealth and agility, and increases the effect radius of AoE abilities. Similar to Dexterity in other RPG games.

These are oversimplified explanations of the three Virtues for players who just want to know what they are on a surface level. Below, we will talk about each one in more detail, and how they interact with other aspects of your Soulframe character.

Soulframe Courage Explanation

Increasing your Courage will, in turn, increase the Strength, Resilience and Endurance attributes. This has the effect of boosting your melee attack damage, boosting Pact Ability damage and also makes your character more tanky (meaning they can take more damage without dying).

Some weapons are scaled with your Courage, meaning they will do more damage when you have invested in Courage. Some Courage-attuned weapons are:

  • Gathannan (Polearm)
  • Oryn-Umbr (Sword and Shield)
  • Vetch (Long Blade)

Some abilities also scale based on your Courage. Such as:

  • Phantom Flock – Calls a flock of phantom birds to descend on your target.
  • Seismor – Roll a giant boulder at enemies, damaging and knocking down anyone who is in its path.
  • Torment – Leech health from your foes and use it to heal your allies.

These abilities will be more effective for characters who have a high investment in the Courage virtue. Please note that this is very far from a complete list, they’re just a few examples – Digital Extremes are still adding new abilities to Soulframe, and existing abilities may be reworked, so keep a lookout for which abilities are attuned to one of the three Virtues.

Soulframe Spirit Explanation

The Spirit virtue increases your Imagination, Arcanics and Empathy attributes. This has the effect of making you better at casting spells, and increases the duration of your abilities’ effects.

Some weapons are scaled with Spirit, including:

  • Juniper (Bow)
  • Sollos-I (Long Blade)
  • The Royal Tines (Short Blade)

Soulframe Grace Explanation

The Grace virtue increases your Cunning, Agility and Insight attributes. This is ideal for stealthy players or those with an evasive playstyle. Grace increases your damage with certain weapons and abilities, and it also increases the radius of various AoE skills.

Some Grace-attuned weapons are:

  • Blitzel (Bow)
  • Bog & Myrtle (Sword & Shield)
  • Rivt-II (Short Blades)
