How to unlock Freyna in The First Descendant

Here is a quick guide on how to unlock Freyna in The First Descendant. Make sure to check out our The First Descendant Freyna Build. It will cost you up to 1 million gold to craft characters because you also have to craft the primary materials first, which also costs gold.

After completing Kingston and unlocking The First Descendant Bunny you will move on to the next region called Sterile Lands. Once you get to the Rockfall area on the far left side you need to defeat the Vulgus Strategic Outpost to start the Freyna quest. Scroll down to find the full quest walkthrough.

To research Freyna, you need to craft the following materials:

1x Freyna Enhanced Cells

Location: Vespers Normal – The Shelter

1x Freyna Stabilizer

Location: Vespers Normal – Ruins Path

1x Freyna Spiral Catalyst

Location: Vespers Normal – Ruins Underground Entrance

1x Freyna Code

Location: Sterile Land Normal – Void Fusion Reactor – Sterile Land Rockfall Zone

Important: The Official Drop rate to get the items is 20% but some players reported it to be lower having to do 20 tries to get a Freyna items. Other Players reported getting it on the first try.

Find Location: To see the drop location of all these items talk to Magisters Anais at the Research Institute and hover over the item. Then click on Acquisition Info and it will tell you where this specific item drops.

Once you have collected all these items, you can visit Magisters Anais and research Freyna for 400000 credits. During certain events it can be that the cost of researching new characters is reduced. Or if you want to go the easy route you can of course also simply buy the characters in the store.

Freyna’s Quest Steps for Unlocking Her

Here is the full Freyna quest walkthrough. Freyna needs neutralizing equipment to safely deal with deadly venom. As you complete missions one by one, acquire materials needed to research Freyna’s equipment.

You also need to progress the main quest to unlock the regions in that zone, otherwise you won’t be able to continue unlocking Freyna in the First Descendant.

Step 1: Obtain Freyna’s Equipment Materials 1

First you need to neutralize the Vulgus Strategic Outpost located at Rockfall in the Sterile Land, acquire Amorphous Material Pattern: Freyna.

You might have trouble clearing the outpost with Bunny because she has low HP and you likely won’t have a good Bunny Build yet. Clearing it with Lepic, Viessa or Ajax (whoever you picked as start) will be easier most likely)

Step 2: Obtain Freyna’s Equipment Material 2

You need to play with Bunny because the Void Fragment that you have to destroy can only be damaged by electric type.

Destroy the Void Fragment located at Rockfall in the Sterile Lands zone. You need to actually use Electric damage skills (Maximum Power beam) to destroy the fragment. Just shooting it won’t work.

Step 2: Obtain Freyna’s Equipment Material 3

Defeat the Commander at the Void Fusion Reactor in Rockfall in the Sterile Lands zone. Once done, you get the Freyna Code.

Step 2: Obtain Freyna’s Equipment Material 4

After defeating the Commander use the green orb Reconstruct Device to extract Freyna’s code from the Amorpheus Material: Freyna.
