TGC AutoDecline (1)

Hi!

I’m Chance, the GM of The Gaming Council.

In a recent patch, the way that our addons handled guild history broke, and it became possible for our addons to double-tap players with guild invites. The issue is quite deep and will take considerable labor hours to correct. I understand that players are thoroughly annoyed with invites, especially when they get more than one. The life’s work of our leadership is to bring ESO players deeper into content, help people make close bonds, and contribute to the longevity of The Elder Scrolls Online as a whole. Annoying people is just not compatible with our mission.

I do apologize to the world for any annoyance that we have caused with our invites in the past.

The technical issue we need to fix is quite deep. There are limitations that we need to tip-toe around that make solutions not poorly performant, ineffective, and difficult to create.

However, I was able to pump this addon out relatively quickly.
It detects when the player is sent an invite from TGC, generates an apology popup, declines the invite, and goes away.
This was written intended to be a temporary fix while we un-f**k our code to make a permanent solution.

It should be running by default, but to toggle the functionality, you can type:
/blockinv on|off

If people would like me to expand this addon to block ALL invites with a toggle, I can do that.
Or, if the apology popup gets annoying, I can do that, too.

With that being said, I am sorry that there is even a need for this to be generated in the first place.
I hope that its presence makes your time in ESO more enjoyable and we see you in trials some day!
