What Are ESO Tamriel Tomes
Tamriel Tomes is ESO’s version of a battle pass. Each Tome is tied to the current season and contains pages of rewards you unlock by completing challenges. The system replaced Endeavors and Daily Login Rewards, absorbing their tasks and rewards into a single progression track
The progress goes like this:
- Complete a challenge
- Claim Tome Points
- Tome Points can then be used to:
- Claim rewards (like a costume or Seals)
- Unlock the next page of rewards
You do not need to complete every challenge the week it appears. Unfinished challenges stay available as long as the Tome is available. You can preview every reward in a Tome before deciding whether to upgrade to a paid tier.
What Tamriel Tomes Replaced
Tamriel Tomes consolidates two older systems that were removed with Update 49:
Endeavor Tasks: The daily and weekly task system that awarded Seals (formerly Seals of Endeavor). Seals still exist as a currency as rewards inside Tamriel Tomes. You can still spend Seals to claim Crown Crate items.
Daily Login Rewards: The calendar-based system that granted items for logging in each day. Many of those rewards now appear in the free Tome track. A “Daily Login” seasonal challenge inside Tamriel Tomes still rewards you for logging in regularly.
Seals of Endeavor were not removed or converted, just renamed to Seals.
How to Access Tamriel Tomes in ESO
Open the Tamriel Tomes screen by pressing F4 (on PC) or selecting the book icon next to the Crown Crate icon in the top menu bar.
From the Tomes screen you can:
- Browse pages: See all free and premium rewards on each page. The lower half of each page contains free rewards. The upper half contains premium rewards.
- View challenges: Switch between the weekly tab (clock icon) and seasonal tab (calendar icon) to see active challenges and progress.
- Pin challenges: Press E on a challenge to pin it to your gameplay HUD. Pinned challenges display on the right side of your screen.
- Claim rewards: Press R to claim completed challenge rewards or unlocked Tome rewards.
- Open caches: Press F to open any Tome Point caches you have. Your current cache count shows at the bottom of the screen.
ESO Plus Benefits for Tamriel Tomes
ESO Plus members receive three benefits for Tamriel Tomes:
- 10% bonus Tome Points: Every challenge awards 10% more Tome Points.
- One Cache of Tome Points per month of membership: Each cache contains 2,000 Tome Points. Caches are granted up front based on your subscription length. A 6-month subscription delivers 6 caches immediately at purchase.
- One Premium Tome Token per month of membership: Collect 12 tokens to redeem a free Premium + Bonuses Tamriel Tome (the highest tier). Tokens are also granted up front. You can save tokens and use them on any actively available Tome, not just the current one.
The token system means 12 cumulative months of ESO Plus membership earns you a free premium Tome.
- The months do not need to be consecutive.
- Tokens do not expire.
- If you purchase a 3-month subscription, you receive 3 tokens and 3 caches immediately at the time of purchase.
Note that ESO Plus members with active memberships between January 1 and March 9, 2026, had their seasonal currencies retroactively awarded on March 30, 2026. New memberships from March 9 onward receive currencies immediately, though they are not spendable until the Season Zero launch on April 2.
ESO Tamriel Tome Tiers
Each Tamriel Tome in ESO offers three tiers. The free tier is available to all players. The two paid tiers are optional and can only be purchased while the Tome’s season is active. Prices listed are USD and were confirmed during the January 2026 Global Reveal stream.
The difference between Tamriel Tome Tiers:
- The free Tome expires when the season ends
- The paid tiers do not expire.
- If you purchase either premium option, you can continue earning rewards from that Tome with no time limit.
Free Tamriel Tome
- Price: Free
- Automatically available at the start of each season
- Includes the lower half of every Tome page (consumables, currencies and some collectibles)
- Free rewards must be earned before the season ends. Once the season closes, any unclaimed free rewards are no longer accessible
- Up to 2,000 unspent Tome Points carry over to the next season
Premium Tamriel Tome
- Price: $14.99
- Unlocks the upper half of every page, granting access to premium rewards (cosmetics, mounts, personalities and more)
- Allows you to continue progressing and claiming rewards from that specific Tome after the season ends, with no time limit
- Can only be purchased during the Tome’s active season
Premium + Bonuses Tamriel Tome
- Price: $29.99
- Includes everything in the Premium tier
- Grants two Caches of Tome Points (2,000 each, 4,000 total)
- Instantly grants a unique bonus collectible exclusive to this tier
- Caches can be opened at any point and are not capped
ESO Tome Points vs Trade Bars
These two currencies both come from the Tamriel Tome system but they do completely different things and are often confused.
Tome Points at a glance
Page unlocks: As you earn Tome Points, new pages of the Tome unlock automatically. You do not need to spend points to access the next page.
Earning vs spending: Tome Points spent on rewards do not reduce your total for page unlocks. The game tracks earned points and spent points separately.
Caches: Tome Point Caches grant additional Tome Points from ESO Plus membership and the Premium + Bonuses tier.
Carryover: Up to 2,000 unused Tome Points carry over between seasons. Any excess is lost when the season ends.
Reward costs: Individual rewards on each page cost between roughly 100 and 500 Tome Points.
- Tome Points: Earned from Tome Challenges. Spent inside the Tamriel Tome to unlock pages and claim rewards.
- Trade Bars: Claimed from Tamriel Tomes and from events and PvP. Spent at the Gold Coast Bazaar and event merchants.
| Currency | Earned | Spent |
|---|---|---|
| Tome Points | Completing Challenges in the Tamriel Tome | Inside the Tamriel Tome to unlock rewards |
| Trade Bars | Events, Tome rewards, PvP Veterancy | Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants |
The simple version: Tamriel Tome Challenges → Tome Points → unlock pages and claim rewards (some rewards are Trade Bars)
Caches of Tome Points in ESO
A Tome Point Cache is a consumable item that grants Tome Points when opened. Each cache contains 2,000 Tome Points. You open caches from the Tamriel Tomes screen by pressing F (on PC).
How to get Caches of Tome Points:
- ESO Plus membership: One cache per month of membership, granted up front at purchase
- Premium + Bonuses Tamriel Tome: Two caches included with purchase (4,000 Tome Points total)
Caches do not expire. You can hold them across seasons and open them whenever you want. They are not capped, so you can stockpile multiple caches before opening them.
Opening a cache adds to your total Tome Points earned, which means it also counts toward unlocking new pages.
Tamriel Tome Challenges in ESO
Challenges are the main way to earn Tome Points in ESO. Caches from ESO Plus and the Premium + Bonuses purchase supplement your earnings, but challenges are where the bulk of your Tome Points will come from.
How Challenges Work
Weekly Challenges
- 5 new weekly challenges appear each week (during a season)
- Uncompleted challenges carry over week to week, up to a maximum of 12 active weekly challenges at a time
- Each challenge has a set number of claims available (ranging from 1 to 6), meaning you can complete the same challenge multiple times across the season for additional Tome Points
- Tome Point rewards per claim range from 60 to 525 depending on difficulty
- You receive 5 free rerolls per week to swap challenges you do not want. Unused rerolls carry over, up to a maximum of 12. You can pay for additional rerolls.
Seasonal Challenges
- Available for the full duration of the season or tied to specific events within the season
- Generally award more Tome Points per completion than weekly challenges
- Introduced at different points during the season. For example, the Jubilee Event challenge becomes available when the Anniversary Jubilee event starts.
- Seasonal challenges cannot be rerolled
Challenge Tips
Reroll low-value challenges.
Weekly challenges range from 60 to 525 Tome Points per claim. If you get a 60-point challenge you can reroll it for a chance at something worth more.
Check claim counts.
A challenge worth 60 Tome Points per claim with 6 claims available is worth 360 total. A challenge worth 200 per claim with 3 claims is worth 600 total. Prioritize high-total-value challenges if you want to progress faster.
Pin your active challenges.
Pressing E on a challenge adds it to your HUD so you can track progress without opening the Tome screen.
Do not rush weekly challenges.
They persist until completed or the season ends. There is no penalty for leaving them until later.
The Daily Login seasonal challenge adds up.
At 15 Tome Points per claim with 99 claims available, it totals 1,485 Tome Points across the season. Log in each day to earn a claim. Unclaimed logins accumulate and can be claimed in bulk.
All Tamriel Tome Challenges
All challenges award Tome Points (not Trade Bars). The tables below list every challenge available during Season Zero. The “Max Total” column shows the maximum Tome Points you can earn from that challenge if you complete all available claims. These amounts might change in the future.
