Type: Solo Cyrodiil & Battlegrounds
Buildname: Blazeplar
Table of Contents
Welcome to the ESO Templar PvP Build “Blazeplar” for Elder Scrolls Online. Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO.
The ESO Magplar PVP Build is optimized for Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds. We are using Shacklebreaker, Bright-Throat’s Boast and Valkyn Skoria in combination with a drink to boost our Bright Throats set. Those sets will give us very good stats for all three resources and will make it easier to sustain and manage your stamina to CC break.
The setup has very good AoE and Single Target damage and can pretty much obliterate any setup. We also do have very strong healing power which can help us a lot. If you want you can choose another Monster Set, Valkyn is my favorite because it deals a lot of damage and gives extra health, but pretty much every Monster Set will work.
Our S&B Bar is for defensive situations whereas our Destruction Staff bar is for offensive situations.

Skill Info
- Radiant Glory: Your execute ability, deals a lot of damage and heals you.
- Purifying Light: Apply this to stack up a lot of damage that explodes at the end of the duration.
- Puncturing Sweeps: One of our strong AoE attacks that heal us while we deal damage.
- Degeneration: Very strong single target damage and gives you extra spell damage via the Major Sorcery buff.
- Toppling Charge: Your gap closer also sets the enemy off-balance.
- Crescent Sweep: This is your offensive ultimate, very cheap cost, and deals good damage but you have to be close to the enemy.
- Living Dark: Good heal that you should always keep on you while you are under pressure.
- Ritual of Retribution: Cleanses debuffs, and deals damage.
- Honor the Dead: This heals for a lot and if we heal someone below 75% health we will get 60% of the cost back! Just keep in mind spamming this will consume a lot of your magicka, so be careful.
- Reflective Light: Gives you Major Prophecy and also applies a damage over time effect on the enemy.
- Channeled Focus: Needs to be on the ground all the time because it gives you the spell and physical resistance buff Major Resolve and also increases your magicka sustain.
- Spell Wall: If you are under high pressure, activate this, it will give you permablock for a few seconds and you will have time to recover.
Make sure to always weave Light Attacks between your abilities, you can find a guide here: “Weaving Beginner Guide”.
Scribing Skills
The ESO Scribing System offers plenty of adjustable skills to add to our build. The scribing skill listed below can increase our survivability a bit.
Important: Please read here how to get Grimoires, Focus Scripts, Signature Scripts and Affix Scripts for the ESO Scribing system.
Base Scribing Skill useful to our build:
- Mages Guild: Ulfsild’s Contingency (Warding Contingency)
Warding Contingency
Warding Contingency helps our survivability. You can place a rune on yourself and the rune will activate once you use a skill. This is great because it essentially pre-buffs us with an extra shield and damage mitigation for the start of combat.
- Focus Script
- Signature Script
- Affix Script

Important Info for Magicka Templar Damage PvP Build
I will be explaining a few important things in this section of the Magicka Templar Damage PvP Build.
Buff-food
Corrupting Bloody Mara is the best buff food you can get with this setup. However, if you have sustain issues the Witchmother’s Potent Brew is also really great as it gives us extra magicka recovery. If you pick another buff food, you have to make sure that it is a drink. Otherwise the Bright-Throat Boast set won’t work.
Corrupting Bloody Mara
(Max Health, Max Magicka, Health Recovery)
Witchmother’s Potent Brew Drink
(Max Health, Max Magicka, Magicka Recovery)
Mundus Stone
We are primarily using The Mage Mundus Stone to get extra max magicka. If you have sustain issues you can also use The Atronach Mundus Stone to gain magicka recovery. You can learn more about all the other Mundus Stones on the Mundus Stone Overview Page.
The Mage Mundus Stone (Increased Max Magicka)
or
The Atronach Mundus Stone (If you have sustain issues) (Increased Magicka Recovery)
Race
All Magicka-based races work with this setup. More about each race can be found on the racial overview page.
High Elf
Breton
Dark Elf
Argonian
Khajiit
Orc
Potions
I do recommend using Tri-Stat Potions as we really need all Stamina and Magicka we can get, to help with sustain and also blocking. You can use the crafted or crown store version.
Tri-Stat Potion
(Health, Stamina, Magicka)
(Bugloss, Columbine, Dragonthorn)
Poisons
Make sure to run poisons on the S&B bar, those poisons put a lot of pressure on the enemy.
Damage Health Posion
(Damage Poison, Damage Poison)
(Fleshfly Larva, Nightshade, Nirnroot)

Resource Management Magplar PVP Build
Channeled Focus is your main resource for magicka, make sure to keep it up a 100% of the time, it also gives you a lot of resistance which makes you tankier.
Tri-Stat Potions are also very important, they can save you because they give a lot of health, magicka and stamina back with one button press. Make sure to save the potion for tough situations. Magicka Recovery Glyphs give us better sustain too.
You can also do heavy attacks on your Shock Staff, they deal nice damage because we have an infused Shock Damage Glyph on there and can not be dodge rolled and because we are in heavy armor, they restore 25% more magicka than normal heavy attacks.
- Channeled Focus
- Potions (Tri-Stat)
- Magicka Recovery Glyphs
- Heavy Attacks with Shock Staff
In case you struggle with sustain, you can always swap to the Atronach Mundus Stone which increases your Magicka Recovery.
Battlegrounds Magicka Templar PVP Build
For Battlegrounds we want to get more sustain by adding another Magicka Recovery glyph to our jewelry.
