Custom Names (1.0)
Description:
The Custom Names add-on allows the user to alter the visual appearance names of NPCs, zones, locations, and world selectables to whatever they wish. Names can be altered on the fly using the add-on settings menu. Such alterations can be for the sake of fixing lore errors, recodifying names to suit headcanon, and so on and so forth.
Users can create their own namepacks and share them by zipping up their own “SavedVariablesCustomNames.lua” file and uploading them online. WARNING: You should only edit the “SavedVariablesCustomNames.lua” file when the game is closed, if you try editing the file out-of-game in a text editor while the game is running the game will automatically blank the file. You can safely edit the file when the application is closed (although it doesn’t hurt to make backups of your work!).
The customized names seen in the screenshots are for example purposes only. The add-on does not contain any custom names until you personally add them or install a namepack.
Requirements:
LibAddonMenu-2.0
Limitations:
-A major limitation of Custom Names is the inability to alter location/zone names as they appear on ESO’s Loading Screens. ESO Add-Ons are completely disabled during Loading Screens, and thus are unable to alter their contents.
-To maintain compatibility, the add-on currently does not affect quest updates or the quest journal.
Disclaimer:
Please do not expect much in the way of technical support. The add-on is provided as is.
